the nightmare breaths blood
the nightmare cries the tears of frightened children
white teeth stained crimson, his rage and hate seathes white hot like a knife in flame
all light hide their pale faces in fear, when the nightmare comes

sleepless nights let me see the shadows creep and crawl out of the darkness, the stars no longer chaining them to the walls like prisoners
some of them are curious and touch and some tease and pinch
but even the quiet shadows scurry away when the nightmare comes

the moon is allowed to slip back into its dark, deprssing excistance
the nightmare wants the shy light, for he is too black to be visible without it
and tonight the nightmare wants to be seen
from the endless darkness a sadistic smile rips across the nothing
rows of blushed razors decorate the grin
the nightmare stalks its prey in perfected silence
beastly head held high with pride
child's white flowered sheets glow red as the nightmare fixses his bloody eyes apon the innocent

quiet, always so quiet
not even the dull white noise of the machines could rescue from the mute panic as the nightmare gets closer
hot breath pants apon cold pallid cheeks
smell so sickingly sweet
like juice with too much sugar added
but it comforts and gives nieve courage in familiar bliss

the nightmare's smile widens into a grutesc shape
and innocent curiosity becomes the invisible rope of the snaire
for when playing with the wolf becomes any childs misfortune
